- White umbrella goddess helps to protect one from natural disaster, over 60 kind of spirits class , and all kind of misfortune.  good for travelling protection and said to help to counteract black magic/curses/ spell as well.
- chances of getting a job / career is higher.help with legal/law issue . help purify karma of being wrongly accused.
- personally i felt reciting this mantra may help one to know the "absolute truth" of certain situation through self realization (though it maybe much harsher feeling when knowing the truth). There are people who like this mantra because it is like having an umbrella (protection/heaven blessings) above you while it is raining (facing difficulties/misfortune)  .
- This is one mantra that is so protective that people may go all their way out to make sure your white umbrella goddess amulet/picture being steal/taken away. so if you are working in a very competitive(cut throat) environment and there are people who had reason to not mean you well or deceptions are going around, you may find White Umbrella Goddess can help protect you on many possible dangers. in fact it is when the king of heaven being under attack by army , it is White Umbrella Goddess Umbrella that shielded the entire palace from being attack. which is why this mantra is believe to help protect one from war too.

-able to pacify evil spirits, protect one from black magic influence and give good geomancy. This mantra has a lot of blessings as it is believe the best protection to be recite at the time of war , earthquake and volcano eruption. there is also many other types of blessings as it can help transmute one negative emotion into positive ( to the point that can even transmute negative emotion causes by sabotagers) , believe to be able to pin down demon ,   protect one possesssion , correct one lung essence , purify obstacle , and even said to be helpful in food poisoning cause by some bad traders selling poisoning food. (*i think most likely through lessening the chance of getting food poisoning because of bad heart traders )  
this is a wrathful protector mantra , therefore one need empowerment / initiation for recitation. 

- on the other hand if you are looking for kilaya amulet type , you can check for the phurba (kilaya) dzi bead or if you prefer a more ornamental style (basically a dagger looks ). Just do make sure that it is really conscerated by genuine monk .
Author note: very powerful obstacle clearance including drought, flood and so on. also remove whatever is bad for enlightenment.

This dharani has interested the author partly because it has the ability to turn demon (non human being demon) weapon into flower, help lessen poverty. The author also notice that this dharani seem to help open up job opportunities such as in technology field (where the job itself do not harm sentient beings such as animals). - this dharani has a lot info that help with a country peace, harmony living along with general protection.

- reedit on oct 2013 as i found there are many version claim to be great compassionate mantra. nilakantha dharani and 11 face avalokiteshvara is taken out from this list as 11 face avalokiteshvara has some similar blessings but its different .

specific instruction: included are instruction dealing with being possess by cat soul and other types of of spirits.
this dharani is usually available in mandarin words decoration items such as keychain, tassels and so on.

   

8. Acala
Mantra: Namah Samanta Vajranam Canda Maha Rosana Sphotaya hum trat ham mam

- acala ability to protect all sentient beings.
this is one of the 4 acala mantra (the only one i has time to check on).
seem to me Acala has a mantra that can help protect all sentient beings and also protect buddhism.
acala is invoke for at the start of difficult undertakings, in times of war, epidermics, disaster as acala protect against calamities, great danger,fire and theft. acala also help one lead to self control and force evil to surrendder as acala vow to do battle with powerful mind of compassion. Acala is said to be helpful in situation where you are dealing with those who does not believe in buddhism and also evil beings (Acala picture is said to even scare evil spirits away). i think this mantra is good to consider if you have a lot of people and beings which  you are worry about. Other than the acala fire puja done by rinpoche/lama is so blessing to the point that the burning fire can looks like an animal figurine during the puja.

9. 21st white tara from lilian Too' 21 Tara Oracle

- yamantaka has the power to suppress evil and create goodness. also fight pain and poisons. has power to vanquish poisonous snakes and dragon. and worship as deity of victory.
- manjushri yamantaka power to clear away dark fog of ignorance are immense.
- yamantaka special ability is his ability to dispel obstacle. unfavourable circumstances are repelled and one will be protected from falling under their sway.Yamantaka has great power to act for peace and welfare of the entire world.
- yamantaka dharma protector is said be able to cause evil being to accept buddhism .
- help to counter fierce spirit and black magic.
Author note:  the only info i found about yamantaka is that originally in the past, there was a saint who are suppose to be living in a cave. when the saint leave his cave, he happen to see two thief who stole and kill a cow. the saint beg the thieves to spare his life but those thieves did not listen and kill the saint . In response of that killing by the thieves the saint suddenly took the cow head and replace it as his head and then kill the two thief. and because of this, the saint has awaken the desire of killing and threaten to kill the entire village who are living there. the villager pray to manjushri for help and manjushri came to help by manifesting yamantaka which has buffalo head and in blue colour and defeat the saint.
yamantaka is also said to help cut off  one from suffering tremendously in future .  and there is another comment by reader which i read from the internet which is said that there was a person who was working/travelling on a ship. then at one time, the person happen to fell into the sea. however while he was in the sea sinking, he felt a gentle power push him up to the surface. he was save ten and then found out that his wife has put a yamantaka ruel in his bag before he leave for the ship.
- if you are considering going deeper or advance deeper into yamantaka retreat . best to find and check with a recognize and authentic temple as it is said that usually one will need to recite kalarupa dharma protector before going for yamantaka.

- thirteen flaming red tara is the destroyer of all opposing forces. assist you in opposing negative situation caused by spirit disturbances. help control wandering spirits that causing you sleepless nights and mental worries.  help ensure safety and reduce possibility of danger (mostly related to travel). also help in situation where there is looming threat to your life force.
Author note: seem to help a bit with sleep especially you thought that you saw something when you are about to sleep.

14. 7th black tara from lilian too's tibetan cosmic magic series 21 Tara Oracle - check the book if you should recite this mantra.
mantra: Om Tare Tuttare Ture Bade Berthang Wara Naya Jo Soha
- this is tara crushing disputants that destroy and subdue all black magic. her mantra is recite to protect against evil intention of others .
Author note: i couldn't verify if this tara can undoes other evil plot but it seem can help ripen one own negative talk though(ripen at early stage).

15. 6th dark red tara from lilian too tibetan osmic magic series 21 Tara oracle (check the book whether you should recite this mantra)

- has the power to subdue all spirits of the three realms. her mantra is helpful in receiving cooperation of the local spirits and landlords.

17. Bhrum syllable

- bhrum is the combination of bam and hum syllable. bam ward of evil and spirit harm. hum is the foundation of all mantra.

Author note: also deal with corruption and it is said that demon will not enter area where has mahakala blessing. white mahakala help remove poverty and bring abundance to everyone. for author, it seem that white mahakala mantra help with life necessities such especially kitchen ware. 19. windhorse prayer flag (lung ta prayer flag)
- this is basically a prayer flag which are printed mantra on it and usually has 5 animals symbols (the center is the windhorse). the origin of lung ta is said to be a king who is sick who consult buddha about his sickness.the buddha saw that the king sickness is originate from obstacles that are put by others. then buddha told the king to release 100,000 prayer flag with faith.
the benefit of release lung ta include
- get rid of curses put upon by others.
-protection from a lawsuit
-eradicate bad dream, bad thoughs, bad actions
- good health
- power over other beings
- wealth
peace within
- luck and longevity
- success and fulfillment of all aspirations
- purify our bad karma

21.  Windhorse mantra
mantra: Ki Ki So So La Ja Lo
- according to world of feng shui magazine ,it is important to take good care of one 5 patron god. if one has been shock, terrible humiliated , suffer extreme pain, all these can weaken one patron god and they will abandon your body. sometimes they can also be steal from you. when one patron god are directly attack by demonic magic wheel or diagram, the person can suffer extremely or even die. this is how black magic work.

at the crown of head is your country god.
on your right shoulder is your enemy god who protect against enemies.
on your right armpit is your male god.
on your left armpit is your female god.
on your heart your life force god, the most vital as this is your soul.

- dorje drolo are particular beneficial during degeneration age as it can help solve complex emotional issue and also troublemakers. help remove mental and emotional obstacles especially complex type. help liberate from anger and attachment. beneficial for those who are unhappy. unstable mind as it can bring balance and calm.

- Dorje Drolo is  padmasambhava in a scorpion form ( a wrathful type) which is very beneficial in term of purifying negative karma . therefore its fire puja are extremely powerful that can help dissolve bad situation that involve gossip, government (authority problem), office politics. this mantra also bring wealth luck and extremely good in dealing with psychology issue that related to extreme emotion such as trauma. and also thought to purify epidermic disease that originate from scorpion. transform hesitancy and clinging into enlightening activity. also give birth to new circumstances and possibilities.
Author note: can't remember where this author found this mantra. but this is beneficial as it seem to help both in business and personal life. this is one of the type of new possibilties where a person can get a job offer while playing games.

- seem to be very important and require to follow strict guideline and precepts to recite this. shurangama is very important that it can make sure heaven and earth will not be destroy.

- still checking the shurangama sutra itself. probably the strongest protection from black magic, evil spirits and evil stars (i suppose it include astrology and feng shui evil star) as practitioner relies on this as protection for their cultivation.


* Note: Spirit realm (ghost realm ) is one of the realm of 6 realms classify in buddhism where a soul when after dead will be in depending on individual karma. what the author mean here is that there are 6 realms which is god, demi-god, human, animals, ghosts and hell realm. when a soul has passed away, their next life birth realm are pretty much depend on whether one has do good deed and the evil karma they committed. therefore , if one encounter spirits problem, it could be the consequences of one own karma in past life. some spirits could be one own past life friends and member family asking for help. while some spirit could be one own karma creditor who came to claim back their debts. it is possible that one may have offended spirit unknowingly too. therefore , it is good idea to help the spirits to get a good rebirth such as going to heaven , buddha pureland as helping others bring good merit. the author advise the person who wish to help the spirits to check with buddhist temple as monks recitation mantra is very effective. there are monks who recommend chanting om mani padme hum to the spirit . However, if one encounter evil spirit, consider getting yamantaka amulet and white umbrella goddess amulet. yamantaka amulet is pretty good to the point the evil spirit will scream and run away while white umbrella goddess amulet give very strong protection including protection from war.

- changes in sleeping pattern (for example unable to sleep at night ), irregularities in health .

- if you have develop suicide tendencies suddenly . do note that it is possible that suicide tendencies may be due to your heavy karma ripening (which you should purify it).  

- it seem there will be more spirit possessions in the future due to buddhism teaching are declining (to the point that each person will be possessed by one kind of spirits) according to padmasambhava sayings. if technically mention, this can be see from the aspect that when a person/being dies and stuck as ghost for example. sometimes it is difficult for them to move on to the next rebirth by themself. and we can help them by generating merits through reciting mantra/sutras which help them for next rebirth. since there are lesser people studying buddhism mantras, it mean more are stuck as ghost and unable to get the help they needed.

*if you are dealing with people who have bad intention (or by chance meet one) or those who will do anything to get something (for promotion or so on) , its best that you should get some amulet or talisman (one for your home and one for you to carry wherever you go) . the last thing you ever wanna worry about is it might has something to do with black magic/evil spirits . better be safe than sorry.

* if it is black soft cloth that can fly by itself and stick to your aura , it probably is black magic type. If it is a black shadow figurine , it is probably a demon / mara. If you can see any of these two, do take extra caution especially black shadow as they will likely target those that can see them first. some children may likely to see them . Although i do personally think that black shadow is more deadly as they can literally cause family to break up for simply being there .it is said that if one repair one own weakness / weak point, then those black shadow will not able to enter easily. the demon i refering here is external (in buddhism , mara can also be internal such as your own mind).  However, being affected by black magic and end up insane in a psychology hospital or become the next mass serial killer isn't something that good either.  The good news is that unless one has some kind of karma , one won't likely being curse. In other word, people won't likely curse you if you didn't do anything bad to them for example.  If you did experience / encounter what mention above, you should check with local temple for accurate guidance .   If the target of the victim is young children, consider getting proper amulet for the children to wear/carry. A proper amulet along with blessings that help increase safety and protection for your children to carry/wear may help your child live a safe and peaceful life until adulthood or old age. 

*consider going for mala bead . a standard mala bead should consist of minimum 108 beads (that represent 108 types of worry ,  some mala had additional beads for error or mistakes in your recitation )  . therefore it is good as helping you to remember how many you have recited . mala bracelet is also good but you may from time to time lost count of how many you have recited and had to restart all over again. as for the proper way of using mala and wearing it and taking care of your mala beads, its best that you get advice from proper instructors. you may want to consider ask a guru or monk in temple to bless your mala. The more you recite, the more your mala protective powers will grow to the point it can become a very strong protective talisman.


*Blow your mala bead when you have finish recite mantra for the day as this mean for your personal protection.

*You may need another mantra which is call heruka vajrayogini mantra which helps to make your mala blessings get stronger as we are living in a degenerative time (meaning negative karma getting stronger with each passing time) . This mantra is said to be the more degenerative it is, the more powerful this mantra will be.

* if one face obstacle while reciting mantra, the solution is to do sur offering to wandering ghost. another option is to light an incense (such as sandalwood incense, where spirits obtain their food through smell) and put it on the windows side , or outside one house as charity food to wandering ghost. then obstacle one is facing will be dispel. therefore buddhist are being encourage to do sur offering before they start their daily mantra practise .
