Buddhism teachings about friends and enemies (FD18072020-6)

This is a portion of teachings i quoted directly from Sigavolada Sutta : Buddha advice on Sigaloka
(author note: wish i knew of this sutta at least 2 decades ago, will definitely save myself from a lot of pitfalls)

Advise on enemies disguise as friend:
1. The taker - one who only take and ask a lot while give little , performing duty out of fear, offer service in order to gain something.
2. The talker - remind of past generosity, promise future generosity, mouthing empty word of kindness , protesting personal misfortune when call to help.
3. flatterness - support both bad and good behavior indiscriminately , praising you to your face and putting you down behind your back.
4. Reckless companion - accompanying you in drinking, roaming around at night, partying and gambling.

keep them at a distance as they would bring a dangerous path to you.
for example: we know that people will do stupid things when drunk. and partying a lot can bring danger of being drunken by others ( die in car accidents, being tricked, being blackmail and many more)

Advise on Friends to keep
1. the helper - protect you when you are vulnerable and your wealth , being a refuge when you are afraid, provide double what is requested.
2. enduring friends - telling you secrets, guarding your own secret closely, not abandoning you in misfortune and even dying for you.
3. mentor - restraining you from wrong doing, guiding you toward good actions, telling you what you outght to know, showing you to path to heaven
4. the compassionate friend - by not rejoice in your misfortune, delight in your good fortune, prevent other speaking ill of you, encourage other who praise your good qualities.

Author note: beware of those who purported leading you away from the right path (especially those who really know it), they maybe linked with very dangerous people who may cause your this lifetime and thousand of your good future lifetimes gone. We are currently living in a time where the evil know no bound and will try to slip in and create evil whenever they can.(such as the product you use, the unhealthy food you eat , the water you drinks, and people who are ignorant enough to cause you born in hell)
