Perhaps this is refering to situation or circumstances where it is vague and elusive but in it the form exits. This particular sentence reminds me of an article i read many years ago. It is said that on the space beyond earth where the space are empty. However , if one look beyond into the emptiness, one can see life in it. It maybe similar to where the buddhist said that within emptiness, there is life.
